A Woodland Advent-ure: Watton-at-Stone and Bramfield Circular (8 mi/13km, Moderate-Booking Reqd)

This walk is for up to 30 people, including the leader.

A circular walk through the woodlands near the villages of Watton-at-Stone and Bramfield, possibly to be accompanied by Advent chocolate!

Our walk starts from Watton-at-Stone railway station, from where we head south towards Watkin's Hall Farm and then Perrywood Lane as we enter Bramfield Woods. Our route remains more or less in woodland until we reach the 16th Century manor house of Queen Hoo Hall, after which we head out across open country for a short while until we reach Bramfield Park Wood.

We then gradually turn from south to west, skirting the edges of the woodland, before reaching the village of Bramfield, where we will have a lunch stop and an opportunity to admire thatched houses and the medieval church. Following our break, we head back northwards, entering Bramfield Woods again, and follow a twisting path to once more emerge into open countryside, and making our way back to Watton-at-Stone. Here, there will be the option of visiting a pub to warm up before returning to the train station.

Please note that this walk is not suitable for dogs.
