West of Old Stevenage Evening Walk (5 miles / 8km - Leisurely, Booking Required)

This walk is for up to 30 people, including the leader.

An evening walk of just under five miles starting from Stevenage Old Town, heading through the suburbs and into the countryside, visiting four greens and three robots!

Half of the walk is on rural tracks and half on surfaced paths.

We begin along a section of the town’s extensive walking/cycling network, taking us through a series of underpasses and past some charming statues of a robot family. After passing through the 1970s neighbourhood of Symonds Green and across the old Symonds Green common, we’ll walk underneath the motorway and into the countryside.

We’ll follow paths through fields to Almshoe Bury Farm and downhill to the hamlet of Lower Titmore Green, with wide-ranging views to enjoy along the way.

We return to Stevenage via meadow, paddock and woodland, skirting the edge of Todd’s Green before crossing Fishers Green (another historic common which gave its name to a modern neighbourhood) and heading back into the Old Town.

After the walk there is the option of a drink at a local pub.

Dogs are welcome on a lead. For information about walking with the group, including our dog policy, please visit the Stag Walkers website.
