Stevenage to Walkern via Benington (11 miles /17.5km - Moderate, Booking Required)
This walk is for up to 20 people, including the leader.
A moderate-length walk through gently rolling countryside, starting from the eastern edge of Stevenage and visiting farmland, woodland and the villages of Benington and Walkern. Along the route we will pass manor houses and cross fields on some of which we could encounter cows, horses and sheep.
Bring a packed lunch for our stop midway by Benington's duck pond (no feeding bread to the ducks please). Towards the end of the walk we may be able to stop in a pub in Aston.
Please note that walking boots are highly recommended as we will be crossing fields likely to be muddy if it rains the week before the walk, some of them downhill.
Please note this walk is not suitable for dogs.
For information about walking with the group, including our dog policy, please visit the Stag Walkers website.
