Letchworth, Stotfold, Pix Brook and Fairfield (11 miles/18 km, Moderate - Booking Required)

This walk is for up to 30 people, including the leader.

An all-day walk with a mixture of town and countryside walking, through farmland and woodland, with a few gentle hills.

We will hike from Letchworth to Stotfold, crossing Norton Common Local Nature Reserve, and also passing Norton Church and the disused Radwell Airstrip. We will join the Kingfisher Way as we follow the River Ivel at Stotfold, before stopping for lunch.

Leaving Stotfold, we will get a view of the Biggleswade Wind Farm, before turning south and passing through Etonbury Wood, before heading south to Fairfield Park, where we will have the option of a coffee and cake stop at Thorne’s Nursery.

After this, we will join Letchworth’s Greenway, following Pix Brook, and then cut through Pix Brook Meadow and Norton Common, before returning to the start.

After the walk, there will be an optional drink in one of Letchworth’s pubs; since there is a possibility that the route will be muddy, a change of footwear is recommended if coming to the pub stop.

Dogs are welcome on a lead.
