Introductory Walk - RSPB Sandy (5 miles / 8km - Leisurely, Booking Required)
This walk is for up to 30 people, including the leader.
Join us for this leisurely walk where we will visit a part of Sandy Heath open only through a limited period of time.
As an introductory walk, this may be an ideal choice if you're new to Stag Walkers and wish to try us out. Existing members are also encouraged to attend and welcome any new walkers.
As we head out of Sandy we will ascend to the Pinnacle, providing excellent views over the town and surrounding countryside. This should help shake off some of the excesses of the festive period!
We will then head to RSPB The Lodge nature reserve where we will visit the heath, and the stunning HQ building, among other interesting features.
We will then head down and walk on the edge of the reserve back towards Sandy where there is an optional pub stop at the end of our walk.
Please note that this walk is not suitable for dogs.
Booking your place: If you would like to join, you must book in advance using the Stag Walkers Meetup group - see Notes for how to book & what to bring. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place.
Please do not turn up for a walk without booking, as places are limited.
Unless you opt in to further communications, we will only use contact information you provide to get in touch about the walk.
Please car-share or use public transport if possible. To offer a lift or ask for one from a fellow walker, please use the Meetup event page.
