Introductory Walk: Kimpton Morning Walk (5.5 miles / 9 km, Leisurely, Booking Required)
This walk is for up to 20 people, including the leader.
Join us for the first of two walks from Kimpton today. You're welcome to join either of the walks, or both if you want to get some extra miles in.
This is an introductory walk. It has a relatively short length and leisurely grade, and as such it may be a great choice if you're new to Stag Walkers and would like to try us out. Existing members are also welcome along.
Kimpton is a lovely old village which is mentioned in the Domesday book, easily accessible with bus links from Luton, Hitchin, Stevenage, St Albans and Welwyn Garden City.
In this leisurely walk we will explore the countryside south-west of Kimpton. We will use footpaths, bridleways and a couple of quiet lanes and visit the hamlets of Ansells End and Blackmore End on the way, providing the opportunity to appreciate a few farmhouses, country manors and lovely cottages.
At the end, people staying for the second walk should have time to enjoy their packed lunches and perhaps get a drink and use the facilities at the pub.
Dogs are welcome on a lead.
For information about walking with the group, including our dog policy, please visit the Stag Walkers website.
Booking your place: If you would like to join, you must book in advance using the Stag Walkers Meetup group - see Notes for how to book & what to bring. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place.
Please do not turn up for a walk without booking, as places are limited.
Unless you opt in to further communications, we will only use contact information you provide to get in touch about the walk.
Please car-share or use public transport if possible. To offer a lift or ask for one from a fellow walker, please use the Meetup event page.
