Introductory Walk: Ampthill Park & Houghton House (5 miles / 8km - Leisurely, Booking Required)
This walk is for up to 30 people, including the leader.
This walk will highlight the true majestic history of Ampthill Great Park and surrounding areas: from a royal hunting ground and army training ground to 80's TV treasure show, with stunning views over the Bedfordshire countryside.
The walk starts at the bottom of the park and then has a gentle climb to the brow of the hill. We make our way to the ruins of Houghton House where we stop for a short break, then follow the John Bunyan Trail into Ampthill and around Cooper Hill. We can finish with an optional hot drink and cake at the Coffee Lodge.
Dogs are welcome, on a lead.
