Great Offley Winter Morning Walk (4.5 miles / 7km- Leisurely, Booking Required)

This is a short morning walk preceding our group Christmas lunch (see separate event listing for meal details and booking).

The walk is limited to 20 places, including the leader; feel free to join us only for the walk if you don’t wish to stay for the meal afterwards, but if you do intend to stay then make sure you book for both events.

The walk begins by the village sign at Great Offley, opposite The Green Man pub. We’ll head out of the village, taking the bridge over the A505 and towards the hamlet of Little Offley. After passing a Tudor manor house we’ll come to Lilley Hoo, a narrow plateau where there once was a popular racecourse; George IV is said to have attended meetings there. We’ll then head through a small wood, Mazebeard Spring, then over gently undulating farmland and back over the bridge to the village.

Please note same paths may be muddy so walking boots are recommended and a change of shoes if attending the post-walk meal.

Dogs are welcome on a lead.

Booking your place: If you would like to join, you must book in advance using the Stag Walkers Meetup group - see Notes for how to book & what to bring. If you are unable to attend, please cancel your booking so that someone else can take your place.

Please do not turn up for a walk without booking, as places are limited.

Unless you opt in to further communications, we will only use contact information you provide to get in touch about the walk.

Please car-share or use public transport if possible. To offer a lift or ask for one from a fellow walker, please use the Meetup event page.
