Biggleswade, RSPB Sandy and a Walkin' Cafe (10 miles/16km - Moderate, Booking Required)

This walk is for up to 30 people, including the leader.

Stag Walkers is hosting this walk as part of the Greensand Country Festival.

In this walk we will visit possibly the most unique landscapes of the Greensand Country and Bedfordshire as a whole. 

Departing from the up and coming town of Biggleswade, we will head alongside the River Ivel, through Biggleswade Common and into RSPB Sandy, home to the biggest heath in the county and harbouring many wildlife species.

From here we will head towards Potton with stunning views over the Sandy quarry, which we should be able to enjoy on our packed lunch break.

As we head down the ridge, there's the possibility to stop at the aptly named Walkin' Cafe for coffee and/or a sweet treat.

On the way back to Biggleswade we will visit Sutton with its medieval packhorse bridge, where there's the chance to visit the quintessential pub The John O'Gaunt for a swift refreshment before the end of the walk.

This walk is not suitable for dogs.
