Afternoon Hill Walking from Hexton (8.5 miles / 13.5km - Moderate, Booking Required)
This walk is for up to 25 people, including the leader.
A walk of 8.5 miles through varied landscapes with a few steep hills, for which you are rewarded with some fine views across Bedfordshire.
Starting from Hexton we’ll head west along the John Bunyan Trail, before skirting around the edge of Barton-le-Clay to Barton Hills National Nature Reserve. We’ll climb up through Leet Wood and take in the extensive views from the top of Barton Hills before continuing south towards the Icknield Way. We’ll then follow this trail east towards Pegsdon Hills Nature Reserve, where there are more fantastic views. We’ll then drop down towards Pegsdon, from where we’ll pick up the John Bunyan Trail again, returning to Hexton for an optional pub stop.
Dogs are welcome on a lead (we may be passing livestock).
