Leading a Walk

Walk leaders are a vital part of Stag Walkers, which is run entirely by volunteers. Becoming a walk leader is easy and there are several experienced leaders within the group who are always happy to offer help and advice to new leaders.

How do I become a walk leader?

All walk leaders must be registered as a volunteer walk leader on the Ramblers website and must complete the online training modules or self-assess alternative experience. This ensures that you are insured to lead a Ramblers walk.

To lead a Stag Walkers walk you need to complete the details of your walk on the programme spreadsheet. The information required includes a description of the walk, start point, end point, start time, length (miles) and walk grade (difficulty rating), plus any other relevant details. If you are on our mailing list, details of how to access the spreadsheet can be found in our newsletter. If you have lost the link to the spreadsheet please contact the walk programme coordinators to ask for the link.
