Agm Meetings

Interested in knowing what is discussed at our committee meetings? We would like to share with you the key points from our last committee meeting held on 09 Dec 2025. Of course, we could not include everything but hope this gives you some insight into what goes on.

Committee discussions and updates

• The committee discussed how the AGM went, and feedback from the polls.

• Based on some of the feedback, we discussed the intention to put on a mental health walk for Mental Health Week in May 2026.

• We also discussed an idea from a group member about organising some walks in the calendar for people with different accessibility needs.

• At the time of the meeting, the group had 192 members.

• The treasurer handover could not be fully completed at the time of the meeting due to our new treasurer Matt not having access yet to the bank account. We talked about looking into ordering more walk leader badges.

• The committee discussed hiring a community hall in order to host a first aid training event.

• The committee discussed advertising for a third walks coordinator in the new year. We discussed future introductory walks in the new year, and hopefully putting a previous walk in the calendar for February and asking a walk leader to come forward to lead the walk.

• Website updates were discussed and the intention to complete an upload for all our historic walks data to the website. We also excitingly planned to create a new Youtube channel for Stag Walkers.

• Regarding the Area updates, we will be looking to recruit a volunteer to help plan the Walks Fest next year, as well as a new Secretary and a Publicity Officer for the Area.

• A second delegate is also needed for the Ramblers General Council AGM which will take place in April.

• Plans for upcoming socials were discussed, including some future pub quizzes and football related events later in the year.
